🦁 What I’ll Be Advising My Safari Clients

After my first safari, I came home with a brand-new perspective—not just on the animals (though wow 😍), but on what really matters when you’re planning this kind of trip.

Here’s what I’ll be telling my clients moving forward:

⏰ Timing Give yourself room to rest! Safaris usually mean sunrise and sunset drives. While that’s magical, it can also be exhausting if you’re switching lodges every other night. My advice? Stay put longer, or build in time for naps and slower mornings.

😴 Packing Essentials Bring a sound machine and a sleep mask. The animals are loud (hippos snort, monkeys chatter, birds never stop). It’s incredible—until you’re desperate for some shut-eye. Early drives meant I needed afternoon naps, and those little extras helped so much.

👕 Clothes Yes, neutrals really do matter. I leaned into forest greens and tans, but here’s the nuance: navy or black pants are fine if you’re mostly in the truck. Just save the “bush walk” outfits for those true neutral shades so you blend into the landscape.

🌍 Big Picture Every safari park is different, and that’s the fun part—I can’t wait to partner with clients to figure out which one matches their travel style.

Because a safari isn’t just about “going to Africa.” It’s about creating the right balance of adventure, rest, and magic moments that will stick with you forever.
